Last week, I modeled, textured, and rigged the game's first character, Adela. This is my first real character, and I am pretty proud of the result, as it fits in nicely with our game's aesthetic.

Model- The model I made was based on a bi-view made by our 2D artist, and the main geometry I wanted to capture through her model was the hair spikiness, which I did by adding a bunch of pyramids on the head and some de-smoothed balls for hair puffs.

Textures - For the body textures, I wanted to emulate the style of jet set radio's lower quality/slightly janky textures and add some comic book stylization through the faux shading on the arms and pants. For the face, I had our 2D artist render some expressions that I applied to a plane a few inches from the face, so that the face texture leaps a bit from the face to be more expressive.

Animation - For the animation, I modified the default human metric by applying the new proportions and removing the face rigging. To animate, I relied mostly on the IKs for the feet and the FKs for the hands.
